hip, hip hurray!

I can tell you, after 9 months of keeping it under wraps, that I am published! I mentioned briefly back in January, that I was working on a quilt pattern. I made two versions of the quilt while writing the pattern (what an awful lot of work THAT was) and Heather tested the pattern for me. (Thanks friend!) The pattern has been published over several issues of the UK based Sew Hip magazine. It is a mystery quilt along, so bits of it were revealed each month. I received the issues yesterday in the mail via the Royal Post. :) How fun to see it all in print! (I still can hardly believe it!) They did such a nice job of presenting my quilt. I couldn't be more pleased.

And I can not believe that I kept it secret for that long without imploding. :)

I am so happy for you - the funny thing is I have been searching the world over each time a new Sew Hip comes out - and have found buying direct from Europe is the quickest way for me to get it - and not too expensive really. (it's cheaper than the gas I use driving to Barnes and Noble 3 times with no Sew Hip!) I thrilled to hear this design was yours - I missed the first issue of the mystery so I have been waiting it out to see the whole thing and maybe get that first step... Now, I'll just have to:) Big Congrats!

Living in the UK I subscribe to Sew Hip and I've been following this quilt. I've really enjoyed doing it and chose all fruit and vegetable fabrics.

So pleased with the result. there's a photo here on flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/16759844@N03/3937130969/
Not the best photo I'm afraid but hopefully you'll get the idea.
